I work in the legal system and I am based out of Surrey. Anyone buying there is insane. It is one of the worst areas in the Lowermainland and, yes, that includes Van East etc. Anyone thinking to invest there better be patient and better be ready to deal with the lower part of society.

I haven’t posted here in a while. I am visiting family in Vancouver as I moved to Calgary last year. People tell me the market is still going up here.
Just wondering if that is any of your observations too. I figured everthing is just stagnant now not going up or down.

Jim: Lurking just ain’t as much fun as posting. Come on, all the cool kids are doing it! Don’t go stealth on us.
scoop: I believe that Yaletown Kelowna is NOT a spoof, even though it very much appears to be.
Yaletown seems to be spreading all over like a fungus. It’s an astounding marketing victory – the pet rock of the 21st century.

common cents
Is the Yaletown Kelowna project for real? I thought it was a spoof site. But now I can’t tell. It looks like the developer has completed other projects.
What confuses me is that the goofy looking real estate agent keeps popping up and waving, and when you click on him it takes you to http://www.dickdodge.com/
Funny stuff, makes me question how serious this site is.

Notice it’s hot x 10?
I think it should be 1 / hot to the power of 10:

As the resident lurker this will be my last post. I have decided that the real estate decline has taken firm hold. Thanks for listening. The big problem, as I see it is the internet is a “right now” kinda media and the Real Estate market is dying a slow,twisting, jerky death.
I used to think that about the U. S. credit bubble, that it was dying slowly. But it’s accelerating. Check out Bloomberg this morning, some of the news is stunning. The beginning is always slow. But the rate of meltdown increases exponentially as the meltdown proceeds.
Be patient,
Be patient;
Don’t be in such a hurry.
Be patient,
Be patient;
You’ll only start to worry!

VHB was a young man who could not hold out any longer so he and his wife BC H. Market blogger bought a nice little Yaletown/Calgary condo and shut down that blog. Of course I will still lurk.

seems like there is smart brain behind this that telling people place that can be bought for 119k why to pay 450k sounds like that to me.

Yaletown came to Kelowna a while back.
http://www.yaletownkelowna.com
Its great, less than 1 minute to the landfill. As a matter of fact, the only structure between Yaletown Kelowna and the city dump is the sales office (and the porta potties)
I don’t know what kind of idiot investors bought into this junk but can’t wait to see them lose their shirts. Its miles from anything and smells bad. They are banking on buying unseen I suspect.

According to this craigslist ad, Yaletown has also come to Richmond!

The market is:
hot
hot
hot

Notice it’s hot x 10? That is also the number of months in a row, which sales have decreased.
Any realtors out there that can spin this one?
