Police have seized a large cache of ‘extra-ordinary’ weapons from a condo near the science world skytrain station.
Police evacuated some 40 residents as a precation, after finding a number of firearms and explosive devices. CTV reported police seized a tripod-mounted military-style machine-gun, rifles, explosives, and ammunition.
Oh, come on now - the neighborhood’s not THAT rough.
Police reportedly called in military explosives experts to help them assess the weapons. Chapman said there is no indication the man was involved in a gang or terrorist attack.
Neighbour Dave Paauwe said there are a number of rental suites in the condominium building, and grow-ops aren’t uncommon.

I’ve never heard the ‘lots of condo’s used as grow ops’ before, but that would explain the prices.

The condominium complex is a half a block from both Science World and a SkyTrain station and a block from the GM Place and BC Place stadiums in downtown Vancouver.
Thats the one where everyone complains about the Indy noise right?

Also, was it not widely believed our local pot was of such excellent quality because of BC soil and weather?
Now I am shocked to hear the crop grows indoors, who would have thunk?
and…
Has anyone heard the new Radio ad on cknw red neck radio?
It features his holiness, Jim Pattison, inviting people to come live in BC.
Who would have thunked this one?
I thought everybody wanted to come and live here.
Guess not, we aren’t running out of land , looks like we are running out of people who will work for minimum wage.

Can you imagine the news as someone opens fire on the Indy cars, the crowds? Good catch, in my view. Someone had their own little insurrection in mind.

Yeah. Don’t people flood to booming economies? I guess not, when there is such a disconnect as we have here.

Well, we haven’t had the Indy in a few years, and it isn’t coming back… thanks to the “no fun city” crowd meeting the NIMBY crowd.

You’re right but I thought it was because they needed the land for condos.
