Friday Free-for-all

Ah! A long weekend and here’s the open topic discussion post for Friday August 3rd:

A few stories I’ve noticed this week:
-Strike could cost housing developers $30k per day.
-Has VANOC touched your soul? Inappropriately?
-Vancouver doing ‘heavy lifting‘ on homeless issue.
-Good new for US buyers: Mortgage rates drop .09%
-American Home Mortgage closing down.
-Canada’s appetite for real estate confounds experts.

What are you seeing out there? Post your news, links and anecdotes here!

drachangood catch,I was more of a sportsman than a student.I work on wms that has nothing to do with writing.I think all humans are paralized from atleast one sense of their body.I work 16-12-14 some time 22h.your comment is preety much true.thanx solipsist, had enough, rentha, hey mold my advice to you in past was based on true fact"that winners live in ontario and quebec not to hurt your sentiments.please log on to bclc.com and check past and future most of winners are from ontario quebec.

I think Satv is just mentally lazy, I've known a few people like him who have no special reason why they can't write clearly, they just never bother to put in the effort. From what he's explained of himself he's locally educated, and let's face it, even if he IS ESL with the amount he's read and posted here he SHOULD be improving. The mental laziness also shows in the weaknesses and fallacies in his arguments.

Paul

wow perfect timing. Thanks!

mold city

Too bad we don't get the year round beautiful weather like San Diego gets, then our prices could rocket up forever and ever!

SATV is DEFINITELY not RC.

Here's my attempt at steering the discussion back to something of substance:Bonfire of the Homebuilders – By rushing into lending, homebuilders helped fuel the fire:"nearly $1 million in mortgage debt on the two dwellings. With $145,000 in family income, Elizabeth says, they are "on the brink of foreclosure" on both houses. "We are so broke."

No way SATV is real. I suspect that occasionally RC or Ozzy needs to blow off steam and be ridiculous and there's the alter-ego. Kenjii, you lack the subtlety and grace of SATV. Either way I'd prefer a good juicy link or anecdote to this gibberish.

HADENOUGH

I don't think satv is real. I think he is someones alter ego. When this is over I would like to send him a bottle of champagne because he makes me smile.

solipsist

I don't know whether satv's Engrish is legitimately so, or not, but if it is, I admire satv for continuing to pound away here.I have never been afraid to make a fool of myself (oh, so obviously), and give credit where credit is due.I often have the feeling that satv is for real, and hats off to him/her for it.

kennji I do not run any bussiness,I am employee for galen weston,I think your point is false claim for mortgage approval, then do stupid things to make payment.I don't know if you can satisfy with this ,but this is best of my knowledge.when you choose some house bank send their own evaluation person from agency.eveluation person check for defect and things in your house should be accordingly and by laws.evaluation also bring house and its future to = current market price or very close.when bank approve your application you need to buy insurance, then insurance agent check your needy house ,if future and position is by law and accordingly.as far as persons concern that is called restriction.there is hardly any by law restriction.imagine you are married and have 15 kids does government or city have a right to split your family.answer is… Read more »

SVTV and Kenjii,You sound like one and the same and that you are commenting on your own posts? Also, either your fake poor English is getting very old, or take some classes to clean it up. In reality, your posts are certainly very "non politically correct" by making fun of people where English is their second language. Either way, you have some issues to deal with.

"To summarize, some of Cramer’s wealthy friends are losing their jobs because too many bad loans were made during the good times, and the Fed is now expected to bail everyone out. Sound about right?"This is exactly what I thought listening to Cramer's rant…

Thoughtful comments on Cramer's rant from Fallstreet.com:(excerpt)—-August 6, 2007Cramer’s Sage Rage?By Brady Willett In what is quickly becoming one of his most popular television tirades to date (which is saying a lot), Jim Cramer completely lost it last Friday during a discussion on CNBC. Coined a “passionate plea to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to consider cutting interest rates”, the incensed Cramer said:“It is no time to be an academic… open the darn Fed window. He [Bernanke] has no idea how bad it is out there. He has no idea! He has no idea! I have talked to the heads of almost everyone single one of these firms in the last 72-hours and he has no idea what its like out there. None!!!…My people have been in this game for 25-years, and they are losing their jobs, and these firms… Read more »

The world-wide madness continues unabated…Only if your world does not include the US. The US crashed first, BTW, because it has the most elastic supply of housing. The UK has a very inelastic supply and will take a lot longer. But just as gravity rules around the globe, fundamentals will also prevail.

Average English house price will top £300,000 in five years, says studywelcome to 2012 london.2016 chicago, london is too congested and streets are very narrow, people park their cars half'n'half one side on street other side on pedstarian walk.but related flow, flow over to nearest location. so people stay eager for uppertunity result-prices prediction is true in its sense.if chicago picks up 2016 in 2009 than vancouver market have no fear till 16 if they fail to win the bid in 2009 vancouver have no competion for rest of life unless or otherwise.government change in usa can change their market condition little bit but nature turns evil every year, tornado, hurricanes so hardly can predict any thing.

Found this report in the Guardian newspaper of London. Average English house price will top £300,000 in five years, says studyhttp://tinyurl.com/2uojtu"Home Truths, which was researched by Oxford Economics, described the current housing market as "distorted and dysfunctional" with the average house price nearly 11 times the average salary and more than 4 million people on waiting lists for social housing. The independently owned group, which provides quantitative analysis and public policy advice, argues in the report that the increase in buy-to-let and second homes is "undoubtedly contributing to the overvaluation of housing".The world-wide madness continues unabated…
