Temporary foreign worker agency Actyl Group sues McDonald’s Canada

In the company’s statement of claim, Actyl alleges McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Ltd. breached its contract when it failed to pay the agency certain “service fees” for immigration services it provided the franchisees.

Actyl alleges McDonald’s Canada was “unjustly enriched” when it deducted money from the paycheques of its foreign workers and pocketed the deductions instead of paying the recruiting agency directly.

Ah I love to watch jackals fight.

@CurREous # 35 previous post “If it were rich americans or rich british buying up real estate, and they were before the chinese, you would rarely hear these kind of comments coming out from people.” If it were rich Americans or British buying up Vancouver real estate, then I think it would be a lot easier to criticize foreign investment because most Americans/British are white so criticism would not be labelled as racism. Not only that, but I think we’d have a much easier time pushing back against American cultural attributes. Let’s imagine it was a bunch of Texas oil tycoons who were buying up real estate on Vancouver’s west side. These Texas oil tycoons might have a problem with Vancouver’s cultural acceptance of gay and transgendered people. They might even have a problem with trans kids going to the… Read more »

I posted last night about how two doctors who were infected with Ebola when they were working in Africa are being transported back to the USA for treatment. My post was voted down. I think this is something to take very seriously, and it has the potential to make our discussions about Vancouver real estate and the never-ending debate about HAM look extremely trivial. We don’t know exactly how Ebola is spreading. There are different strains of it. This strain is somewhat less lethal (60% death rate as opposed to typical 90% death rate) but it also seems to be a catchier strain. Why else have several health care workers in layers of protective biohazard suits become infected with it. It’s catchier than prior strains. That’s why this is the largest Ebola epidemic in history. And now we’re transporting it… Read more »

I am chinese. My parents immigrated to Canada in 1970 when I was 4 years old. It is not racist when I have a disdain for the new immigrants from China, for the reason not due to the color of their skin but for their behavior in my Country. Aside from the fact that they choose to use Canada to stash their illegal cash, they take advantage of our healthcare, education system, and are the cause of high real estate prices. Why do we have to invest our education budget into ESL classes? Canadian working class families can no longer afford a home? Have you tried to find a family doctor lately? No racism, the system needs to change. We need more money…then tax the shit out of HAM, easy.

Go ahead, keep down voting my post #4 down people. My main message is pay close attention to the Ebola story. I don’t know exactly what is going on, but my spidey senses are tingling and my spidey senses are usually right. I am just saying pay attention and think for yourself. Paying attention can make the difference between living or dying. It’s upsetting to see my post voted down because I don’t want it to get to the point where you can’t read it anymore. I’m trying to alert people to a public health problem that they need to pay attention to for their own good.

#5 Barb Rennie – if I could up vote your comment 1000 times I would. I have so many friends that are Asian that are more pissed off than anyone I know about the ridiculous influx of opportunistic Asians. They are embarrassed by them more than anything and really pissed off at the government for catering to them and destroying what little culture Canada has left. Their parents and in some case their grandparents came here with next to nothing. They worked their butts off and helped make Canada what it was 10 years ago. They did their best to assimilate and raise their kids as Canadians. They say the immigrants in the last 10 years only come here to take advantage of our system for a free ride, hide cash, have no intention of assimilating or in most cases… Read more »

Most of the Hams immigrate to Canada just want the canadian passport as a life insurance policy. They do not like or want anything to do with Canada or pay their fair share of taxes. Many will move back to China after they have their passport while leaving the money, houses, or their children behind. Is this what we want for Canada? I am sorry to say I am Asian.

Most of the local homebuyers just want to own a home as a life insurance policy. They do not like or want anything to do with renting and will pay more than their fair share of BC’s personal mortgage debt, the highest in Canada. Many will be underwater after the bubble finally bursts leaving the money, houses, or their children behind. Is this what we want for Canada? I am sorry to say I am Canadian.

I would assume HAM is quite easy to spot, expensive cars, new mansions, expensive branded clothes, bags, etc. For starters locals just need to show them how much welcome they are. Just ask Hongkongers how they do it.

I would assume Indebted Local Money is quite easy to spot, expensive mortgage payments, old tear downs, expensive branded condos, zero downs, etc. For starters renters just need to show them how much indebted they are. Just ask bears how they do it.

@George That is a fair comment, like I said before it is not racist to talk about the topic of HAM. But after I posted my comment we had someone comment about how every single HAM, and he makes the assumption all HAM is from corrupt money while at the same time saying any money coming from the states or britain would be assumed earned through entrepreneurship. Well that is just ignorant and racist. Just above we have some asian, who somehow thinks being of a certain race gives you free pass on saying anything about that same race, say that all HAM come here to buy property and disappear. Does that happen? Sure it does, but that is a generalization and racism is basically hatred from generalizations. Why did no one make a big fuss when americans were buying… Read more »

Told you.

I think sales volumes, which have been declining for months, will pick up as sellers reduce expectations going forward.

We are telling all sellers to reduce expectations and now the Oracles of the world know why.

Oracle is a big company in SanFrancisco, …Vancouver doesnt have any big companies because its a real estate obsessed, pitiful backwater with no economy unless you live for weed and Real estate, so no educated or talented people come to vancouver because of that, who wants to live in a career graveyard like vancouver

Not all racism is about skin colour. Hitler and Jews were both white. Did that make what Hitler did OK?

“he makes the assumption all HAM is from corrupt money while at the same time saying any money coming from the states or britain would be assumed earned through entrepreneurship. Well that is just ignorant and racist.” More race-baiting bullshit. There have been countless reports of corrupt officials stashing their money offshore in real estate and even the Chinese government has admitted that these “naked officials” are a big problem but here you are playing dumb and using the race card. Furthermore, China is a thoroughly corrupt country. It’s a country that has no ethics, no morals and no shame when it comes to theft, cheating or fraud. When you look at who is running the country, a gang of brutal thugs, then it’s no surprise. This has nothing to do with their race, it’s about their 60 years of… Read more »

@BPOM – you mean like the top 10 most wanted ex-cops for corruption in HK who are all living a nice happy life in BC? Yeah, HK is not corrupt…bullshit…

Ask the average HK or Taiwan citizenship when they aren’t huffing and puffing about how superior they are to mainlanders and you will find that most of them think their own govt & politicians are just as corrupt as the Chinese ones. It just don’t get reported as much in Western newspaper.

It just shows you are an angry little man who don’t actually know what you are talking about.

But that’s fine cuz this hate will slowly eat you from inside out and destroy your life until you go mental, but you will not reap any reward from it.

@Chabar – Like totally paving their front and back lawns with concrete? Combining lots to build huge mansions that all the white neighbours hate? Talk really loud in Cantonese and never integrate? Leaving back to HK as soon as they get their citizenship? Still collecting all the social benefits while staying 6 months in HK and never paid a dime in Cdn income taxes? Have their kids go through K-12 & univ at subsidized rates while diverting a lot of $$$ in K-12 to ESL, and then promptly go back to HK to work? Again, using services but never paid income tax?

If you think rich mainlander are worse then you don’t know jack. Rich HKers are just as bad if not worse.
