“B.C. leads Canada’s decline in October housing starts”, Business in Vancouver

http://www.biv.com/article/2014/11/bc-leads-canadas-decline-october-housing-starts/

“A decline in housing starts across the country has hit B.C. the hardest as the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) says the pace of condo construction appears to be on the downward trend.”

“CMHC data released on November 10 showed the rest of the country is also experiencing a downward trend, but one not as sharp as B.C.’s.”

Bull! Bull! Bull!

It is much moor than window dressing.

It is about extending PRC jurisdiction and control to Chinese not in China. No former PRC citizen will ever be free from the power of the Chinese government. They will be one trumped up or real accusation away from being brought home and executed. To avoid this they will forever remain loyal to the party.

@118: “Looks like the APAC group is going to back a deal in Beijing next week to share infos on corruptions.”

That would be the group that includes Putin?

Do you think such a deal would be anything more than window dressing?

Whenever I hear ethnic diversity, I’m ready to puke.
Where are the blacks, the Arabs, the Africans, the South Americans, the Australians, the Russians, the Japanese,
the first Nations.

Oh, some other gems about why we love it here from the article:

While weather and geography are some of the more predictable reasons people choose to live in the Vancouver area, the poll also turned up some surprises. A majority of respondents in every region except the Fraser Valley cited a relaxed view of marijuana use as one reason they live where they do. The same was true of bike friendliness, everywhere except Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge. Ethnic diversity and an environmentally conscious populace were also cited as factors by three quarters of respondents throughout the region.

Looks like the APAC group is going to back a deal in Beijing next week to share infos on corruptions.

“Apec members said in a statement that the purpose of the agreement, proposed by China, was to deny safe haven to anyone engaged in corruption.”

I guess there will be a lot of for sale signs in West Van and Van West soon.

It is official, geography and weather is why we and everyone else love to live in Vancouver

How until the language debate in Richmond is not about English vs Chinese but Mandarin vs Cantonese?

True real estate investors such as OTPP, REIT’s, etc. invest for income so they like low real estate prices, not high prices. They don’t buy SFH and condos whose prices are inflated by amateur speculators.

@post 104

Quit the bullshit.

I’ve seen completed applications. One application to sponsor entire family. A 10 year old sibling does not have their own application.

Like I said. F! Off

@108

That’s your rebuttal? It doesn’t even make sense.

@105

I agree. We don’t need people like you. Please leave.

Westside Realtor

A (statistically significant) dead weekend for our team, as related to anything nearing a hot bid for the sfh’s we flog on the Westside.

Fun times.

The Man

Actually, it’s homosexuals and transgenders who cause real estate prices to rise, creating bubble communities.

@95

We need people who pay taxes. There’s no point increasing the population with people who are only going to take from society and not contribute, create bubble communities, discriminate against transgender and homosexuals, protest teachers and completely fail at integrating with society.

Don’t forget, Richmond has the highest childhood poverty rate in BC.

@102

“It’s 5000 applications! Not 5000 immigrants.”

You need 1 application per person trying to immigrate. A total of 5000 immigrants per year can apply out of millions of immigrants here. Probably only about 50% of applications will be successful. We might see 2500 actually land here. When you consider there are 200,000 new immigrants per year that is about 1 family class member making it in for every 80 new immigrants. That doesn’t factor in the applications that are put in by the millions of immigrants already here. The program is essentially dead.

Right on.

@post 96

Nice try..

It’s 5000 applications! Not 5000 immigrants.

So 5000 x 2 parents x 2 grandparents, and 2 siblings equals 35,000 immigrants per year.

But a nice purposeful try.
