Friday Free-for-all!

Another weekend looms!

Inventory is at rock bottom levels!

We have temporarily turned off comment voting!

How you all doing?

What if this weekend we talked about the only thing that matters: data

Without data the causes and solutions to the Vancouver housing bubble are subject to endless bickering that devolves into nonsense.

WITH data the causes and solutions to the Vancouver housing bubble will also be subject to endless bickering, but at least the dabate could be based on facts.

That would be progress.

Post your thoughts in the comment section below and have a very good weekend!

@93

Vancouver-area banks reported suspicious transactions involving Mainland Chinese clients 17 times more often than those tied to citizens of any other outside country in recent years.

Fucking cockroaches, generations of Canadians will have to swim through their shit for many years.

“Bank of Canada: rates can go to -0.5 percent, but no need now”, Reuters

http://ca.reuters.com/article/businessNews/idCAKBN0TR27N20151208

“The Bank of Canada estimated on Tuesday that it could if needed set its benchmark interest rate as low as minus 0.5 percent, but stressed that the economy was recovering as expected and it did not expect to use such unconventional monetary policy.”

He lists them separately. It’s weird, many of his numbers are way higher than yours on some days. I don’t usually check his stats but I’m cross-referencing now.

He has 262 for Greater Van and 117 for FV. Total sales at 379 for the 4th.

Yesterdays sales for Van match perfectly though.

I think he has an assistant that does it, maybe she’s doing something wrong.

Thanks again for providing these numbers, probably the best indicator we have on what’s going on with our market.

We are on a tear, 4 cups this decade. We will continue to be the most dominant team forever. It’s only logical.

This summer weather has been going on well into fall. It’s pretty safe to say, no winter this year folks. It’s just too hot, not gonna happen.

Vancouver is only held up by foreign money and immigration.

Nothing else.

Unbelievable.

Oil to stay below $40 for a few years. OPEC has come too far to blink now.

Those that get out of housing in Alberta quick will be the lucky ones….

Lets see what happens….thinking a 33% crash in prices for Alberta IMO.

Remember, CMHC report last week said 26% crash Canada wide in prices if OIL at $35 for extended period. Its at $37.

Sad to think about what the world has become. One person cheers another’s misery so they can ‘go ahead’.

Alberta is toast.

Oil will not rebound until the Oilseeds are brought to their knees. Your media doesn’t want this story out…the truth would cause chaos. Google ” Oilsands” in Google News and barely turns up anything.

Make no mistake.

Keeping immigration levels high, admitting countless refugees, not cancelling the TFW and IMP coupled with the Oilseeds crash is going to cause massive chaos.

If the sheep wake up…look out.

Paul are your stats for greater Vancouver, all inventory? Trying to figure out the difference between your stats and Rob Chipmans. He shows 236 sales on Friday, you show 136.

Thanks

70, the bears would rather whine about the weather than discuss low inventory, low MOI, high sales, low interest rates, the fact they’ve still not proven the “trickle down theory” passes the smell test, that only 3.5% of condos are owned by foreigners according to CMHC and so on. It’s easier to gripe about the city in tired, obvious, lazy ways (see post 69).

Omg! It rains here!

There are over 600 craft breweries in California. Provincial minded Canadians really know so little about the superior beer of the US west coast.

@73 UnagiDon

Of course not! Those charged with the responsibility of spending the taxpayers’ millions are not interested in the taxpayers’ opinion on the disposition of their money, or anything else. Consultation is strictly for show, and alumni activities strictly for fund-raising, including beyond the grave. Board members prefer talking to the other hacks on the board and their hangers-on, of which real estate interests loom large. Not that the Bennett family would know anything about that!

What do you think is the likelihood of Ms. Bennett’s contact info being in the big-boy RE developers’ electronic Rolodex? If it’s there, it doesn’t need to be in yours or mine, does it?
