Except that your link ‘examples’ are from yesterday and I was referring to recent like from today. The News1130 piece I posted from yesterday also referred to him as a Syrian Refugee. Moving forward you will NOT see the “Syrian Refugee” label used when referring to this murderer because the left-wing media will want to downplay the fact that these people are dangerous.
If what is being reported is accurate, then there should be a public inquiry into the process of refugee background checks by the immigration authorities. Unusual for anyone to arrive in a new country and then proceed to knock off a teenage girl……
Less uncommon in places like Germany and Sweden apparently. It was verboten for the press to cover it for a long time. It sounds like they are now since so many people see it as a major issue. From what I understand, Canada is mostly getting families, so the people we are getting are more moderate. In Europe, it sounds like young males from all over Africa are using this as an opportunity to sneak in and a lot of those people are trouble. So, I don’t see it as a major issue here for now, but that’s probably luck more than intent. We could just have easily have imported the problems Europe is now facing. And like Europe, you couldn’t discuss your concerns without being labelled as a racist by the left and the media.
You can’t do refugee background checks from countries like Syria. It is basically an interview and hope the person is telling the truth.
But not in the headlines. The media downplays things like this as part of their PC agenda.
If this wasn’t such a story, it might not even be mentioned, but it’s pretty much the first thing people bring up when you talk about it in real life, so, they can’t just bury it.

I think the other posters were spot on. The two articles posted by Patriotz don’t hide the fact that he was a Syrian refugee but they do hide the fact of what is probably on most people’s minds. Is our immigration too much? Is our vetting process broken? Is it time to overhaul the immigration/refugee system? This is what most people are thinking. Not a mention of any of it in the articles only about how the poor Syrian community feel and how it’s unfair on them ( rightfully so). But this isn’t what is on people’s minds after hearing the news. There is a definite agenda to numbing down the info when certain people are involved in major news stories. Been happening for a while now.
