I’m backkkk!

Few points:

1) Referendum next month. Prediction is NO side wins. Then what? Election and gov falls bringing back Liberals. Then it will be clear the NDP purposely failed the people who got it elected. 1.5 years of failure. They purposely missed their chance.

And Greens will be done.

2) Support the new Maxime Bernier Party. At least we can talk about the negative fininacial effects of high immigration.

3) Nafta will cause tremors in Canada whether they sign it (concessions) or they cancel it. This is all on Trudeau.

But remember the Vancouver Sun is. Ow running stories to vote for PR.

Why?

Could there be a Liberal-NDP alliance for the foreseeable future to keep real estate high?

I think so.

Many muslims in Canada and around the world fully support violence against non-muslims. This belief is baked into their religion. This violence is often even more acceptable when it’s against women dressing “immodestly”. Unless there’s a test for fundamentalist muslim beliefs, you can vet them until you’re blue in the face and not stop this from happening. One of the articles claims it’s not “religiously” motivated. I’ll believe it when I see it. Islam needs a major reformation movement. In aggregate, muslims are a very dogmatic, bigoted, and violent group of people.

When I was in Germany there were lots of cases where muslim men took extreme measures (violence and shaming) against muslim women that were dating non-muslim men.

There are approximately 4-5 million Muslims in Germany.

How many is “lots”?

Germany’s migrant rape crisis continues unabated. Preliminary statistics show that migrants committed more than a dozen rapes or sexual assaults every day in 2017, a four-fold increase since 2014, the year before Chancellor Angela Merkel allowed into Germany more than a million mostly Muslim male migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The actual number of migrant-related sex crimes in Germany, however, is believed to be far higher than the official number. For instance, the BKA data includes only crimes that have been solved (aufgeklärten Straftaten). On average only around half of all crimes committed in Germany in any given year are solved (Aufklärungsquote), according to police statistics.

Another attempt to silence anyone’s opinion that differ’s from yours. A huge number of well educated non-right wing people feel that Islam is a dangerous religion. Just because you don’t doesn’t make it bullshit. Its called an opinion and like an asshole everyone has one. But as you only believe things that have links here you go. This from people who have left the religion. Here is the first 3 paragraphs as onto-moderation will not allow me to post links: We are a group of Muslim apostates, who have left Islam out of our own conviction when we discovered that Islam is not a religion at all. Most of us took a prolonged period of time to study, evaluate and contemplate on Islam, the religion of our birth. Having meticulously scrutinized Islam, we concluded that it is not a religion… Read more »

This guy was vetted, he wasn’t one of the people crossing the border illegally.

This incident is a one off, there’s no pattern of criminal behaviour from the refugees brought in from Syria.

The million young men invading Europe without any vetting is a different story.

YVR

People from certain shit hole countries like Syria cannot be vetted. How do you vet them? Ask them in a questionnaire if raping and killing a young girl is okay or not? You can’t get background information on refugees from places like Syria. In places like Syria raping women is part of daily life. Just google rape + Syria.

It states they expect 20% of the funds collected to go towards administering it. Don’t worry there won’t be any money left over. The question is when do they increase it. Expect the media to report withing a year what a wonderful success the program is so they are increasing it so more people can get free Hydro. I wonder how long before HAM figures this out?

“majority of voters own RE and a significant % of them are chinese”

51% of households in CoV are renters. As for the Chinese, the have never voted for left of centre candidates and that didn’t stop Gregor Robertson from being elected 3 times in a row. Also there are two right of centre Chinese candidates which will split their vote.

The media is really downplaying the fact this killer is a Syrian Refugee; no mention of that in this article:

Except that your link ‘examples’ are from yesterday and I was referring to recent like from today. The News1130 piece I posted from yesterday also referred to him as a Syrian Refugee. If what is being reported is accurate, then there should be a public inquiry into the process of refugee background checks by the immigration authorities. Unusual for anyone to arrive in a new country and then proceed to knock off a teenage girl……

Dave
Member
Less uncommon in places like Germany and Sweden apparently. It was verboten for the press to cover it for a long time. It sounds like they are now since so many people see it as a major issue. From what I understand, Canada is mostly getting families, so the people we are getting are more moderate. In Europe, it sounds like young males from all over Africa are using this as an opportunity to sneak in and a lot of those people are trouble. So, I don’t see it as a major issue here for now, but that’s probably luck more than intent. We could just have easily have imported the problems Europe is now facing. And like Europe, you couldn’t discuss your concerns without being labelled as a racist by the left and the media.
YVR

You can’t do refugee background checks from countries like Syria. It is basically an interview and hope the person is telling the truth.

Dave

But not in the headlines. The media downplays things like this as part of their PC agenda.

If this wasn’t such a story, it might not even be mentioned, but it’s pretty much the first thing people bring up when you talk about it in real life, so, they can’t just bury it.

I think the other posters were spot on. The two articles posted by Patriotz don’t hide the fact that he was a Syrian refugee but they do hide the fact of what is probably on most people’s minds. Is our immigration too much? Is our vetting process broken? Is it time to overhaul the immigration/refugee system? This is what most people are thinking. Not a mention of any of it in the articles only about how the poor Syrian community feel and how it’s unfair on them ( rightfully so). But this isn’t what is on people’s minds after hearing the news. There is a definite agenda to numbing down the info when certain people are involved in major news stories. Been happening for a while now.

patriotz
Member

” but they do hide the fact of what is probably on most people’s minds.”

You mean your conjecture of what is probably on most people’s minds. Look, these are news stories about the recent arrest of a murder suspect. There’s an intersection with immigration as regards the suspect, but Canada’s immigration system is a vast and complex subject, and it ought not to be examined simply in the context of this one case.

https://www.thestar.com/vancouver/2018/09/10/kennedy-stewart-promises-to-triple-the-empty-home-tax-in-housing-announcement.html

VANCOUVER—Vancouver mayoral candidate Kennedy Stewart promises to triple the empty home tax and build 25,000 “affordable rental homes” in the first of two housing platform announcements Monday.

Ahead of the Oct. 20 election, the independent candidate has hammered out a plan to prioritize non-profit housing for people with low to medium incomes — households that make $80,000 or less — while encouraging the for-profit housing industry to “provide homes within reach of first-time, local homebuyers.”

It’s not about the amount, that’s all just so he can get the votes. It’s about enforcement. You can tax them the entire value of the property or more and it won’t do squat if you don’t spend money enforcing it.

But yeah, horrible time to be buying as an “investor”.

Hopefully he can coordinate this with David Eby’s promise to put the foreign buyers tax on presales and the NDP promise to build 130,000 affordable rental units. Is that now 130,000 plus 25,000 affordable units? LOL. Of course then never mention where they will get the money to build $30 billion plus in housing.

Even that would put my debt to a rather uncomfortable level, even if I had purchased at the former rock-bottom interest rates.
