One million Chinese people ‘move into Muslim homes to report on Islamic or unpatriotic beliefs’

‘Had a Uighur host just greeted a neighbour in Arabic with the words ‘Assalamu Alaykum’? That would need to go in the notebook,” says Dr Darren Byler

Those who have spent time in them, have however claimed that they were forced to undergo an intensive indoctrination programme, urged to renounce Islam and instead heap praise on the Chinese Communist Party.

One former inmate claimed Muslim inmates were forced to eat pork and drink alcohol.

That’s not the NDP way.

It looks like the Libs might run on privatizing it in the next election. Between allowing real ridesharing (not some NDP bs that makes it useless to appease the taxi union) and privatizing ICBC that is enough to send the GNDP back to Siberia.

THE VOTE
———————-
Only a few days left to mail in the ballots. Anything less than 50% participation will indicate massive defeat for the YES side

Anything greater than 50% makes it interesting.

Royce McC
Guest
Royce McC

I’m curious: is there any reason you’re landing on 50%? I mean, the turnout in last year’s provincial election was 58%. The turnout in 2013 was 55% and in 2009 it was 51%. If this referendum has, say, 40% turnout, it’s possible that if the YES side wins the referendum, it may do so with more votes than the BC Liberals did when they secured their unassailable majorities in 2009 and 2013. How would that be a “massive defeat”?

Oracle

The election was FPTP for each of 87 ridings.

This vote of about total popular vote in 1 riding (BC). Rates of return of ballots much higher in Liberal dominated ridings. Very low in NDP dominated ridings.

Royce McC

Got it. You’re making a prediction on the outcome. Maybe you’re right? We’ll see soon enough.

I thought you were implying it would be a “massive defeat” if the turnout was low regardless of the vote outcome (i.e. implying the result wouldn’t be legitimate if not enough people participated). That would be a whole different kettle of fish, assuming everyone had access to the ballot, etc.

1 independent.
3 Greens
40 NDP (plus one needed for speaker).
42 BC Liberals

1 seat vacant.

NDP will have to give up one MLA for speaker. And they are doing everythibg they can to protect plecas now.

WOWowow it is.

If PR passes (not likely), stalemate in government and we will go to the polls.

If PR vote fails then NDP done. And their dragging their heels on every file will cost them big time this next election.

I think Plecas is out of his mind. He stabbed his party in the back to prop up the Greens and NDP, who then turn around and try to rig our electoral system to their advantage. Yet, all the PR dorks are quite happy to claim PR is about supporting the wishes of the electorate but they try to bring it in on the back of a guy doing exactly the opposite. Then this guy starts a secret investigation for 8 months and doesn’t bring in the RCMP or the Attorney General, which is bizarre. Mike Harcourt made history when he resigned after getting caught skimming money from charities for the NDP.

Glen Clark made history for the first Canadian premier to be arrested on the 6 clock news for corruption.

Horgan will top them both with this one.

“Glen Clark made history for the first Canadian premier to be arrested on the 6 clock news for corruption”

He wasn’t arrested, rather the police simply executed a search warrant. He was eventually charged but found not guilty, as was Vander Zalm before him. However Vander Zalm didn’t have to endure the police tipping off BCTV.

Harcourt resigned on the principle of cabinet accountability: he had zero connection to the Bingo-gate scandal. That was probably the last time a politician resigned in BC on a point of principle. Compare Gordon Campbell, who couldn’t even manage to resign after being arrested for drunk driving.

And Glen Clark was toppled in a soft coup co-ordinated by the RCMP, Global TV and the BC Liberals.

Campbell was a drunken liar with a mean-streak a mile wide. He didn’t save BC, he sold BC. He was the Gordon Gekko of BC politics, our Minister of Greed.

His 25% tax cut was a stunt to create the fictitious deficit he claimed the NPD left behind (although the independent auditors he hired disagreed.) It was also a pretext for brutal cuts to demoralize any opposition.

Of interest from above. Helliwell pointed to one highly-cited study comparing luxury consumption in Western and South-East Asian cultures, which found “Southeast Asians pay a great deal of attention to possessions that are both public and visible, such as designer-labelled goods, expensive cars, jewelry, etc.” The authors of the study, Nancy Wong and Aaron Ahuvia, said economic status is a central value in newly industrialized southeast Asian societies. Displaying luxury autos, Wong and Ahuvia said, “may reflect the value that an interdependent self places on social conformity in a materially focused, family-oriented and hierarchical culture.” When I asked the author of the popular book and movie, Crazy Rich Asians, about the rush of Asian capital into Metro Vancouver housing and retail outlets in recent decades, Kevin Kwan said one of the reasons people from China drive supercars in B.C. is… Read more »

Of course no non-Chinese person would ever do such a thing. Is that what you’re trying to imply?

P.S Canada is for non-Canadians, too.

Oh you must mean those non-Canadians who live here and buy all our houses and don’t pay any taxes while freeloading from our social services? Those ones ???

Are they also taking your job?

So much paranoia.

They aren’t taking my job because they don’t work. You should know that.

I bet you’ve never even spoken with them let alone know what their tax situation is. You’re just another jealous dumbfuck racist with an overblown sense of entitlement.

It’s also hilarious that you’ve narrowed down the people you’re criticizing so far given the broadness of your ridiculous name. Canada is for more people than just Canadians. Deal with it.

Canada is for those who live here and contribute to the Social fabric of society. It’s not for freeloading financial refugees from China who come here and use our social services while contributing nothing and show off their I’ll gotten wealth. Deal with that.

Pure jealousy. It makes you feel better to persuade yourself that they don’t pay taxes, I suppose.

“Australian property sales slump to levels not seen since the early 1990s”, Business Insider Australia

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/australia-property-market-turnover-stamp-duty-2018-11

“Turnover in Australia’s housing market, as a percentage of all homes, has fallen to the lowest level since the early 1990s.”

“The decline reflects a combination of factors, including continued affordability constraints in some of Australia’s largest housing markets, including transaction costs such as stamp duty that have risen as property prices have increased, as well as a softening in demand that has contributed to a decline in new property listings.”
