It’s interesting to see many Chinese-Canadians take China’s side on everything. And I’m talking about people who are even born here. PRC’s done it’s job well.

Hereditary gene mutations related to nonsensical belief of being superior nation exposed through sickening competitiveness and primal urge of getting ahead at any cost, keeps them far away of any idea of cosmopolitanism and makes them loyal henchmen of national leadership no matter where and under which circumstances.

That’s what China wants you think. In fact a great many Chinese-Canadians don’t like the PRC government – that’s why they left – but are afraid to criticize it for fear of reprisals.

Tim Hortons opens first Chinese location, offering salted egg yolk timbit
The Canadian Press, at 08:02 on February 26, 2019

TORONTO – Tim Hortons has opened its first restaurant in China, in the People’s Square in Shanghai.

The Canadian restaurant chain expects there will be 1,500 locations opened across China over the next 10 years.

The new location will serve many of the chain’s traditional offerings as well as some new food and drink options unique to the Chinese market.

In addition to different tea flavours and new hot espresso drinks, Tim Hortons will offer a new salted egg yolk timbit.

>>> mmm… salted egg yolk timbits… sounds so yummy… but no dog or cat on the menu… yet.

It’s about great companies bending over backwards to lick Chicom’s ass. Why should Tim Horton’s offer any of the disgusting and unhealthy food just for the Chinese market? Are traditional Canadian donuts not good enough for these chicoms? Why is Tim spending all this time and efforts trying to like chicom ass in the first place?

Looks like an international success story to me. LOL another smack down for SIDA.

the company shrunk its total store count by 50 outlets in the U.S. last year. Tim Hortons shut down its only store in Indianapolis, Ind. after just four months of operation, while another four Indiana locations under development are awaiting a final decision from Restaurant Brands, according to regional developer Luke Brands. Meanwhile, average gross sales in seven of the 11 U.S. states it operates in have declined year-over-year.

2019 Federal Election Prediction: Jagmeet winning last night basically lets us know how the next half decade will unfold in federal politics. Canada has 338 seats. Need 170 for a clear majority. Quebec has 78 seats and the Maritimes have 32 seats for a total of 110. All polls indicate that NDP support in Quebec is crashing. With Jagmeet, it’s at 6%. Most of the former NDP support will go to the Liberals. Analyzing every riding here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_2015_Canadian_federal_election_by_riding It is clear that the Trudeau Liberals will take a minimum of 100 of the 110 seats. This assumes the byelection results can be extrapolated to the election this fall. Then, Trudeau just needs 70 seats for majority in the remaining 228 seats in Canada. 50 seats out of 228 will probably give him a minority. Ontario has 121 seats. – can… Read more »

“Sixty per cent of Canadians have an unfavourable opinion of him and over the last month, 59 per cent of respondents said their opinion of Trudeau has worsened.
Fifty-four per cent of Canadians think Scheer is unfavourable, and 64 per cent think the NDP’s Jagmeet Singh is unfavourable.”

Canadians are starting to figure out that all 3 parties are garbage.

You only have to look at who they choose as their leaders to make that conclusion.

….a simple 7% house price correction for first time buyers makes homes as affordable as an increase to a 30 year amortization does at current prices.

Lower home prices also generally means more equity and more market resistance to negative equity in a downturn. At current valuations an alarming amount of Canadians are already in negative equity, and the correction hasn’t even really gotten started.

Dave

Anybody who bought a year ago has lost value, but those units aren’t yet built. It might get interesting when those 2018 presales head to completion. Tick tock. If it starts to go downhill, it could snowball. The more that prices fall, the more people get into negative equity, which means more supply, which means even lower prices which means more underwater people…

i am told there are 12 schools in this district, so cost to hang a dispenser on a wall is somehow a mind boggling $833 per school. even more laughable is their estimate of $583/yr (= $48/mo or $2.25/day) per school to keep these stocked. now if the masses mobilize and call for these to be put in every school across the lower mainland, particularly in areas where some students might have the propensity to hoard anything and everything that is free, one can quickly see the problem that will emerge…

You’re right the fear hasn’t permeated the system enough to pull paper-millionaires (aka. shadow owners) from the sidelines. They’re expecting the market to continue it’s upwards trajectory any day now. Once the market has been demonstrated to be truly dead, they’ll panic-list their house, inventory will skyrocket, and prices will plummet. A truly dead spring from a sales standpoint will likely be the tipping point. A lovely consequence of the total commodification of real estate.
