‘Home prices in some of Canada’s major urban centres could decline by as much as 12 per cent over the next 18 months before recovering in 2022, according to a new report from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp., the country’s federal housing agency.

The report comes just weeks after CMHC CEO Evan Siddall predicted up to an 18 per cent decline in average home prices across the country over the next 12 months, a data point which prompted a skeptical realtor community to characterize the forecast as “panic inducing.”‘

Check out CBC’s article entitled “Treating racism: Canadian doctors of colour share their experiences in medicine.”

I see a lot of non-white people who need to check their class privilege. I also see a lot of medical doctors pontificating on social science that they’re not trained in. How does someone who’s been a victim of anti-white racism or extreme gender ideology, get help in a medical system that sees you as the problem? We need medical doctors who are culturally sensitive to the issues of the white working class. The medical system is absolutely making a mockery of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Abd it’s BS I can’t post links on VCI.

Thanks. I could expand more but I won’t. There is zero understanding to the issues I go through and these doctors certainly wouldn’t understand and that makes it worse. Also, I should be supported and affirmed in my gender expression consistent with my biology. But I am not. That is the Charter violation. Are you trans? Do you have gender dysphoria? No. Okay then shut up because you couldn’t possibly know what you’re talking about.

Vancouver Born & Bred

The gender stuff isn’t the only Charter violation. I am discriminated against in the medical system because I am white, male, Trump supporter. I won’t go into specifics. But it is all too real. The TDS that most doctors, especially those who work in mental health, suffer from undermines their ability to treat mental health of Trump supporters. They can’t help but see my valid opinions as psychological pathology and they are blind to evidence contrary to their stereotypes. They need help and are in no position to help others.

When your medical condition (gender dysphoria) is politicized and the medical profession is part of those politics and taking sides. It also comes up with psychiatrists. It also comes up when you need medical treatment for the injuries caused by deranged woke leftists. When Andy Ngo needed treatment for being assaulted by leftists, the doctors would have known his politics. If Andy Ngo needs counseling for the stress leftists put him through, would TDS counselors or the psychiatrist in the story be able to help him? Might they make it worse? The medical profession has been politicized. It doesn’t start with the patient discussing politics necessarily. The doctors do and the advice and treatment they recommend valirizes certain politics over others.

The last time I saw a doctor he complimented me on my Rolex. I said that’s why I’m glad I went into real estate instead of Med School.

By the way, it’s not just my Charter Rights being violated in the medical system. All these supposedly trans kids on hormones are also being extremely victimized by the medical system, far worse than I am. Most of them don’t even know it yet. At least, I’m in the position to be able to speak out about it as I have matured and come to terms with my gender dysphoria. The kids with gender dysphoria are the silent victims.

Dave

I know a lot about this issue (I have a trans kid) and I also know a lot about the medical profession (I won’t get into that or why). Doctors are a very professional bunch and they take the hippocratic oath seriously to the point that they’ll tell a patient what they don’t want to hear. While I don’t know your situation, I suspect that’s the case. My perspective is that activists, not doctors, have politicized trans / gender dysphoria / gender identity issues. In my experience, most doctors see through the bullshit on all sides of the issue and they see this as the medical condition that it is. I also see a generational split with people born before and after 2005. From a generational point of view, this is mostly a non-issue to Gen Z, the same way… Read more »

It was a mistake for me to go there on this board because of the limitations I must stick in order to protect my privacy so it’s hard to haveva frank discussion. The doctors and psychiatrists I have dealt with basically have no clue. The medical profession today does not follow the hippocratic oath. They follow BC College of Physician guidelines, which are mainly about protecting the medical system from liability. Your comment is dismissive and condescending, portraying me as an old LGBT whose just not hip with the times. Yeah know. Even Boy George is considered transphobic these days. The truth is effeminate males with EARLY ONSET GENDER DYSPHORIA paved the way for what the young LGBT have. There is no consensus among trans people and those with gender dysphoria themselves. Because we are talking about many different things and lumping them under these umbrella terms. The legal system and the medical system in Canada have taken sides in a debate about trans issues that trans people themselves are divided about. And it is not a generational divide. There are different reasons who someone may present as the opposite sex or as androgynous. But now that the legal and medical systems have taken side, the most extreme side, there are ramifications for all of us and I can’t even begin to explain to you or to doctors how this all affects me. It’s such a mess. I was never consulted by the experts who changed our laws and neither were most gender nonconforming people or whatever you want… Read more »

The generational divide I referred to is societal, less within the acronym family, which I have less experience or understanding of. I’m simply looking and listening to the experience of trans people in different generations and Gen Z has a much easier time of all this.

Pretty much every medical professional I have met on this issue wills say that treating dysphoria is their primary objective. To be fair, I have also intentionally avoided some groups like Three Rivers that have a greater political element. But, my experience doesn’t match what you’re claiming.

Dave

On one hand, you want a ‘frank’ discussion, but on the other you criticize me for expressing my opinion. I’m a pretty blunt guy so I’m just telling you what I see. It doesn’t make it true and I could be wrong in my view. And that’s the whole point of being frank… feel free to shoot me down because I walk away better for it. The Guidelines are not about protection from liability. In my experience, medical boards and their guidelines are very strict and they take professional issues very seriously. What do you think those females are going through? What’s your claim? Sure, we’re all affected by our subconscious mind. I am well aware of it and I have spent years working on that. Since when did Margaret Wente have a “checkered past”? This is beyond insane. It’s meant to put a chilling effect on speech. Look what happened to Margaret Wente, whose job is to write controversial opinion pieces, imagine what could happen to me in my job if I expressed similar views to those expressed by Margaret Wente in the Globe and Mail. Something fit for publication in a national newspaper just a year or two ago is now a firable offence. What did Wente do exactly? All I see is innuendo that she was a bad person. Her articles were better than any of the drivel the Globe and Mail puts out today. She actually could think for herself. How refreshing. If the University of Toronto is so concerned about plagiarism, why do they continue to accept large numbers of international students with subpar English skills, many of which make use of essay-writing services? When I was in university 10+ years ago, there was a moral panic about plagiarism among undergrads. If the universities were more selective about who they admit, they wouldn’t have a plagiarism and cheating problem. They should look within instead of calling out Margaret Wente for plagiarism. Shaun King of Black Lives Matter said: “All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form [of] white supremacy. Created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down.” We are now witnessing the blatant racism of Black Lives Matter. A Black pastor in England, who was acting as a liaison between the police and Black Lives Matter, was asked by a broadcaster whether she thought the statue of Winston Churchill should come down. She agreed it should, if he was racist, but said she couldn’t really say because “I’ve never met the man.” She had no clue who he was, his history, and was unaware that he was even dead. Foreign sellers are outnumbering foreign buyers by a large amount. BUT “corporate entities” bought up 11% of all New Zealand properties in the second quarter of 2019 and 20% of properties in Auckland’s Waitemata ward.

They’re mostly misinformed. If, however, when presented with the data (which really demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that local buyers are responsible for the vast majority of real estate purchases and is also corroborated by secondary data such as Canadians’ willingness to sacrifice retirement plans to purchase real estate on account of it being “a good investment that always goes up!) I’m sure most, being decent rational people, would acknowledge their blind spot and be thankful for the enlightenment.

However, a smaller number would continue to stubbornly stick by their original claims because they’re toxic little shits like you.

Is it just a coincidence that every major city (London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, etc.) that saw a large influx of foreign buyers also saw a large upswing in prices? Just a coincidence? Nothing to see here? And when their particular government began to tighten credit and their economy started to stumble, so did ours. And then when they received a huge stimulus and credit conditions loosened, miraculously our market ticked up again.

Yes, the locals have joined in on the fun, but it was the foreign buyers (and money launderers too) who got the ball rolling and caused prices to initially begin their ascent.

Would you like me to prove it?

How embarrassing.

Such little knowledge and in proud display to boot.

“Although a booming stock market may result in more discretionary income for future home buyers, there is currently no direct relationship between stock market activity and real estate prices.

From the UK Guardian on new Covid outbreak in Beijing:

We need to find out whether this virus was transmitted from animals to humans OR whether it was man-made in a lab. IF it was man-made, then this practice needs to end. They shouldn’t be fooling around with viruses (and that includes China, the U.S. and any other country monkeying around.)

https://www.mortgagesandbox.com/vancouver-real-estate-forecast

“• The impact of Coronavirus on Metro Vancouver will likely be very significant.
• Supply has risen because purchases have dropped, but the number of sellers has remained relatively unchanged.
• The Metro Vancouver benchmark home price has held its value, but the price of the median home purchase has dropped significantly. This is a sign that buyers are avoiding the top of the market.
• Short-term rentals in Vancouver (now vacant due to Coronavirus) may be converted to long-term apartment rentals or sold, and this could add unexpected supply to the market.”

“COVID-19 to leave some lasting economic damage, Bank of Canada chief says”, CTV News

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/monetary-policy-covid-19-bank-of-canada-1.5621999

“Canada’s top central banker says there will be long-term economic damage from the COVID-19 pandemic as the country charts a “prolonged and bumpy” course to recovery. He warns that Canadians shouldn’t expect the short and sharp economic bounce-back expected over the coming months to last.”

“Macklem said the COVID-19 pandemic has created an economic shock unlike anything seen in our lifetimes. Entire sectors of the economy have shuttered, more than three million people lost their jobs through April and even more had their hours slashed.”

Per Saretzky:

“The Canadian economy was hammered with more bad news as retail sales fell further than expected. Receipts fell 26% in April on a month over month basis, falling significantly further than analysts expectations for a 15% decline. For the first time in 27 years, retail sales fell across every sub-sector.

As the Canadian consumer pulls back, so too has immigration. Once deemed a strong pillar of the economic machine, Canada admitted a mere 4,140 new permanent residents in April. That was down 85% from the same month last year. The number of study visas declined 41% year-over-year, and temporary immigrants collapsed by 80%. “

April is so two months ago. We all know April was a bad month. The future is what matters and the stock market says things are looking up!

the markets are only up because Trump for all intents and purposes issued an executive order to all relevant parties to do anything and everything whether legal or not (mostly the latter) to get it up and keep it up until the election. no one cares about the price and what the future consequences of such irresponsible actions will be. sure, i get why he is doing this, but honestly this is all pointing to an epic collapse when reality eventually sets in. having many stocks actually trading higher than they were pre-covid makes zero sense. COVID-19 round 2 is hitting many states hard and he is back to pretending nothing is happening. this can only end badly (for stock investors too) if he turns a blind eye while the body count ramps up and then ultimately runs and hides… Read more »
