Hey guys, I notice that there's been some unhappiness with the number of off-topic rants in the blog comments. This has always been a fairly open blog in terms of the commentary that is allowed but I think the comment ranking system generally helps to keep things on track. We can't please everyone, and each tweak we make to the ranking system usually gets the whole range of feedback from positive to negative. The open nature of anonymous comments on the blog leads to more volume and more chaos - the forums tend to be more focused because they require a user account.
Can't promise any immediate changes, but here's a chance for you registered users to speak your mind on the best course of action regarding blog comments.
